In honor of Daylight Savings Time, we’d like to honor some of the important health benefits of sunlight.
- Vitamin D – you can get this important vitamin from sunshine, and it can help fight Type 2 diabetes and cancer, supports your immune system, helps increase calcium absorption for healthy bones, and can help lower your blood pressure.
- Better sleep – spending time in the sun helps regulate circadian rhythms for better sleep.
- Happier mood – we all know that sunlight helps to fight Seasonal Affective Disorder symptoms, so it only makes sense that it can raise your mood even when springtime is in sight!
As always, make sure to wear sunscreen when you are in the sun to get all the benefits while protecting yourself from the potential dangers of sunburn and skin cancer.
What are you most looking forward to now that the sun is out longer in the evenings?
