Flu season is here. You’ve probably noticed the coughs, sniffles and watery eyes of your ill coworkers, family members or your children’s classmates. Thankfully, there are some simple things you can do to prevent getting sick this flu season before that first tickle in your throat ever happens.
- Get your flu shot – it’s not too late! This year’s strain of the flu virus is actually contained in the flu shot, so you have a great chance of preventing illness by getting vaccinated.
- Sleep in a little. Getting enough sleep lets your body recharge and keeps your immune system running in top form.
- Eat your vitamins. Citrus fruit is in season, and everyone knows that oranges are chock full of vitamin C. Grapefruit, tangerines, satsumas and other citrus also pack a big vitamin punch.
