Have you ever thought of adding avocado to your smoothie? That’s right – avocado. This mild, creamy fruit adds a ton of nutrition plus a smooth texture to your tasty frozen beverages. There are many ways to add avocados to your smoothies, so to get you started, we’ve compiled a few recipes using the fruit in season in this week’s boxes:
Kiwi-Apple-Avocado Smoothie Recipe
1 large organic apple, cored
1 large kiwi, peeled
1/2 a large avocado, peeled and pitted
6 to 8 ounces of filtered water
Add all the ingredients to your blender, and blend on high for 30 seconds or until the smoothie is creamy. Add more water if necessary to achieve the desired consistency.

Strawberry and Avocado Smoothie
1 – 16-ounce container of strawberries
2 1/2 avocados
16 ounces fat-free strawberry yogurt
1 tray of ice cubes
Blend until smooth. Makes 8 servings.

Apple and Avocado Smoothie
1 apple, cored, skin on
1/2 ripe avocado
1/2 apple juice
1/2 cup ice
3 sprigs mint leaves
1 teaspoon freshly squeezed lime juice
Combine all ingredients together in a blender and pulse until ice is incorporated. Then puree until smooth.
