You’re invited! Join FruitShare at the ALS Bike Trek MN 2012!
When: May 19, 2012
Where: Big Marine Park Reserve; Marine on St. Croix, MN
What: The ALS Bike Trek MN is an important annual event with deep personal significance for FruitShare founder Everett Myers. Over 20 years ago, Everett lost his father to ALS, and since then very little progress has been made to cure or even slow the progression of this debilitating disease. ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease, is a neurodegenerative disease that attacks nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord, affecting motor skills. This progressive disease has no cure and no way to slow the symptoms. The ALS Therapy Development Institute (ALS-TDI) and MDA’s Augie’s Quest are two top-notch non-profit organizations dedicated to ALS research. They team up each year to put on the ALS Bike Trek MN to raise funds for research. This year’s goal is $300,000.
You can join FruitShare’s team, whether you can join us for the ride or not. Help us reach our $10,000 goal by signing up for the ride or donating to the team today. Visit http://alsmn.als.net/FruitShare to join, donate or find out more about the Bike Trek.
