Valentine’s Day Chocolate-Dipped Fruit

2 ounces chocolate
Your favorite fresh fruit in season, including citrus, apples and pears
Toppings like sprinkles, toasted nuts, coarse sugar, crushed candies, etc.
Spices to put a twist on the chocolate, like cinnamon, cardamom, ginger, cayenne, nutmeg, pumpkin pie spice, etc.

Wash and dry the fruit. Cut apples and pears into bite-sized pieces, and peel and section citrus. Have each type of topping nearby in small bowls. Melt the chocolate. Dip the fruit pieces in the melted chocolate, then roll the chocolate in desired toppings. Set aside or refrigerate until chocolate is set.

*Note: to keep apples and pears from turning brown, sprinkle sliced fruit with lemon juice.
